Both boats launched to a report of a women with a broken ankle on a yacht off Christchurch Head.

On arrival two crew were put onto the yacht to assess the situation. The woman's ankle was very swollen and very painful, she had slipped on the steps going into the cabin.The yacht was escorted to calmer water, whilst the crew Immobilised the women's ankle using blankets and fracture straps.

 

More crew boarded the yacht and lifted her into a scoop, (which is a special stretcher). The casualty was then transferred onto the ILB and then onto the ALB. The ALb took the casualty back to Poole Quay where an ambulance was standing by to take her to Poole hospital.
