Tuesday April 7th

The ILB launched at 16.58 to a report of a person in the water off Shore Road.

The ILB arrived on scene at 17.06 to find 3 people in the water some 200 metres off the shore. There was an old lady and 2 men who had gone in after her, to save her. The old lady was a patient from St Ann's the local mental hospital.

The ILB crew recovered the 3 people from the water and landed them safely onto the beach, where there was an ambulance crew waiting.

All 3 casualties were able to walk from the ILB to the shore but were extremely cold. The ILB returned to station.
