Thurs 15 May

The ILB was launched at 1755 to a report of a jet ski that had hit and gone under the Sandbanks Chain Ferry. The original report had been phoned in to the Coastguard by a member of the public who had seen the incident take place. The skipper of the chain ferry was unaware that the accident had occurred. On arrival on scene the ILB found two people and the jet ski alongside the "Vigilant", a harbour authority patrol boat. After checking whether the two people from the jet ski required medical attention, the ILB towed the jet ski to Lake Drive Slipway. The casualties were handed over to a Coastguard mobile unit.

As they were about to return to Station the ILB was retasked to a Sealine 24 "Deck of Cards" that had broken down in the vicinity of Brownsea Castle. On arrival the ILB could not find the casualty and started a search. They found "Deck of Cards" 1 mile NW of the originally reported position and towed it in to Salterns Marina.
