Wed 25 Dec - Christmas Day 2002

The ILB was launched at 1218 after a policeman reported what he believed to be a body floating in Poole Harbour. Despite it being lunchtime on Christmas Day there was a good turn out of the crew and 5 of our most experienced crewmen were quickly on their way. Tragically the report turned out to be accurate and the ILB recovered a female body. They took the body back to the Station's floating ILB boathouse where the police and coroner could do their work in some privacy.
