The ILB was launched at 0245 to a report of a man threatening to jump off Bournemouth Pier. The ILB made best speed towards the pier and was asked to wait out of sight of the man while the police tried to persuade him not jump into the water. The police were successful and the ILB was released to return to the Station. The ILB was away from Station for an hour. The crew know how dangerous it is for people who jump off the pier, especially at night, and were much happier to have been called out before anyone did enter the water.
