Another busy Saturday afternoon which turned into a frightening near fatal incident.
There was a launch request by the coastguard at 13:30 pm to assist a boat taking on water by Poole Yacht Club. The 27ft Fantasia "Atlanta" had a leak through the Stern gland; by the time the lifeboats for there they had managed to stem the leak.
The Inshore lifeboat was then diverted to a capsized Hobie cat just off pottery pier the two crews were separated from the boat. The ILB righted the Hobie cat and put the crew back on board and they sailed away.
The Intermediate Lifeboat (Brede) was then called out to assist a 34ft yacht "Zanzibar" that had gone aground at East Looe Bar, just outside the harbour entrance.
