30 December 1320 Both boats launched to a report of capsized dinghies in Parkstone Bay.
6 December

1145 ILB launched to a report of a yacht in difficulty south of Parkstone Yacht Club. The vessel had fired a red flare but then made a 999 call to the Coastguard. When the ILB arrived on scene they discovered that the vessel's engines had failed and it was drifting toward the rocks. The ILB took the stricken vessel under tow to Davis's Boatyard.

3 December

Poole ILB was launched at 1004 to reports of
a yacht having difficulty with its engine somewhere north of Brownsea Island. The ILB was able to free the stricken yacht from the mooring and towed her back to her berth in a nearby marina. The lifeboat crew then spotted another yacht in difficulty, this time unmanned, and being smashing against a jetty. A call was made to the Coastguard and the ILB was rerouted to see whether the yacht could be secured. A tow was attached and the yacht was removed from the jetty that it had demolished.

13 November 1250 ILB launched to a report of two people in the water off Baiter in a capsized dinghy.
11 November 1930 ILB and then ALB launched to a report of red flares seen in the harbour. An extensive search was conducted but nothing was found.
7 November 2053 ILB launched to a yacht taking on water in Dolphin Haven.
5 November

1057 Both boats launched to a report of a 10m motor cruiser on fire, just off No. 24 buoy. When the ILB arrived on scene a crew member boarded the vessel and removed the gas cylinders and shut the engine down. The stricken vessel was towed to a safer mooring and on closer inspection it was found that the vessel was not on fire but had overheated and the engine was steaming. The casualty was taken back to Cobbs Quay.

3 November 1554 ILB tasked to a kitesurfer off Durley Chine. When they arrived on scene the casualty was safe and ashore.
29 October

0030 Both boats launched to a report of two people in the water off Bournemouth Pier, when the boats arrived on scene, the persons had been dragged from the water by anglers.

1135 Both Boats called out to a report of a man overboard in Poole Bay.

28 October 1200 ILB tasked to a Kite Surfer off Shore Road.
27 October 600 ILB launched to a Car in the Fisherman's dock.Nothing untoward was found, the driver was located and the ILB returned back to station.
14 October 1655 ILB tasked to a 25ft cabin cruiser but when they arrive on scene the stricken vessel was under tow by Police boat "alarm".
8 October 1900 Both boats launched to a report of an overdue rib. A search was conducted, the ILB located the vessel and found that all was well.
29 September

12.45 Both boats searching for people in the water from a small vessel off Poole Yacht club. Occupants found safe ashore.

24 September 1428 ILB launched to broken down vessel in Studland bay, they took in under tow to safety.
10 September 1941ILB tasked to help a broken down vessel.The ILB took it undertow to the safety of Mitchell's boat yard.
9 September

Whilst in the quay during "Harry Paye day" a yacht was spotted hard aground. The ILB and ALB working together towed the yacht clear so that it could proceed with its trip.

 

3 September 1137 ILB tasked to a woman off Boscombe Pier.The RNLI beach rescue attended the lady in the water and the ILB was stood down.

29 August

1842 ILB launched to 2 people who had capsized their dinghy off Baiter.
28 August 1730 A wayfarer dinghy with a broken rudder off Brownsea Castle. The ILB towed it to Davis's boatyard.
26 August 1715 Both boats were tasked to a broken down Bayliner close to Aunt Betty buoy whilst out filming with Meridien !
22 August 1815 ILB launched to a capsized dinghy, the ILB righted the vessel and took them back to Baiter.
21 August 1500 ILB launched to a capsized dinghy off Pottery pier. The ILB arrived on scene to find one person in the water. A tow was attached and the stricken vessel was towed back to Poole yacht club.
18 August 1315 ILB tasked to assist a vessel of Branksome Chine that was entangled in fishing gear.
17 August 1345 ILB was tasked to help a girl on a Motor Yacht with neck and spinal injuries. The ILB passed the casualty to an awaiting ambulance.
15 August 1902 Both boats launched to a person on board a Dive boat in Shell bay in need of medical attention. The ILB was then tasked to a yacht with a broken rudder and could not make progress as the steering was failing, a tow rope was attached and the vessel towed to safety.
13 August 2034 ILB launched to assist a rib which had run aground, they had two extremely cold casualties onboard whom they had taken off another vessel that had run aground earlier ! An ambulance was requested as they had signs of hypothermia the ILB took the casualties to the ambulance at Lakeyard.
12 August

1316 ILB launched to a sailing dinghy in difficulty off Long Island, which they towed to Lakeyard slipway, then after completing this service a speedboat with 5 people onboard waved at the ILB, they had incurred engine failure at Balls lake.The ILB towed them back to Rockley and then returned to station.

10 August 2000 ILB launched again to a Jet ski aground in the harbour, they took him back to Baiter Slip, then at 2100 they helped a small power boat who had an electrical fault , they towed him back to baiter slip as well.
10 August 1420 ILB tasked to assist a 5 metre Dory aground near the spit by the Chain ferry, the stricken vessel had made a navigation error. A tow was attached and the ILB took the vessel back to Baiter Park slip.
10 August 1301 ILB launched to a report of a vessel adrift alongside Bournemouth pier,ILB towed it back ashore.
9 August 1905 Both boats launched to a report of a person in the water face down. near the ferry. Both boats conducted an extensive search of the area alongside SAR "Whiskey Bravo". After a long time nothing untoward was found MRSC Portland stood both boats down.
8 August

1920 ILB was tasked to a catamaran with a fouled prop, it had fishing gear snagged around its propeller and had to be towed in. When the crew had come back to the station a person reported his friends overdue. They had left Arne in a dinghy over four hours ago. After a search of the area the ILB was stood down as the Marine police had taken the dinghy and occupants into custody, the dinghy did not belong to them.

4 August

1830 Both boats were tasked to a report of a person in difficulty in the water the ILB arrived on scene first and whilst the ALB was passing the chain ferry the ILB informed the coastguard that the casualty was safe ashore. The Coastguard then tasked the ALB with the ILB and Police launch to search for a suspected overdue speedboat with one person onboard somewhere in Poole harbour After an extensive search of the harbour The Coastguard mobile unit reported the incident to be a hoax call due to a personal dispute. Both boats returned back to station..
3 August 1150 ILB tasked to help two canoeists reported overdue and in trouble up the Wareham Channel, they had made a navigation error, the ILB brought them back to Shell bay where their family were waiting.
28 July 2101 ILB launched to a report of an inflatable dinghy in difficulty off durley Chine, when the ILB arrived on scene, nothing untoward was found.
27 July 1845 Both boats launched to a report of a person in the water missing for over an hour, having arrived on scene the person was reported safe, ashore they had been suffering from cramp. The ILB was then tasked to a person on a Lilo drifting close to Bournemouth pier.
26 July
2126 Both boats launched during a raging thunder storm. to a report of a person in the water off Durley Chine whilst on route portland radioed through that the person was safe ashore but then tasked the lifeboats to help a large power boat taking on water. The stricken vessel was by "Aunt Betty". Due to the squally conditions visibility was poor and the spectacular lightening was bouncing off the water when they arrived on scene they found that the vessel had internal pipe work failure and had to be towed back to the safety of Poole Quay.
25 July
2045 ILB launched to assist a small power boat that had machinery failure a broken down gearbox. ILB towed the stricken vessel back to Davis boatyard..
25 July
1807 Both boats were tasked to a report of a fire on long island the ALB was asked to stand by as they feared that 7 people would need to be evacuated. When the ALB arrived on scene, the fire brigade had everything under control so the boat stood by and then was stood down as there was no imminent danger.
23 July
1800 The ILB was tasked to assist a swimmer in trouble of East Looe.
23 July

1225 Both boats launched to a report of a jetski on fire to the West of Bournemouth Pier. When the boats arrived on scene they found that the two people whom were on the jet ski had been taken ashore by RNLI Beach rescue to an awaiting ambulance, and the jetski was engulfed in flames.

The lifeboats job was to set up an 100 yard exclusion zone around the jetski which was about a quarter of a mile from the shore. As the Jetski was not floating towards the beach and not savagable as this late stage it was decided to let it burn, as there was a risk of it exploding as nobody was sure about the amount of petrol it had in its tank thankfuly it eventually it sank and both boats returned to station.

22 July

1230 A beautiful tranquil sunny morning in Poole bay soon disappeared under black clouds, when thunder and lightning and fierce squally showers caused chaos. Portland coastguard kept both Poole and Swanage lifeboats busy.

Both of the Poole Lifeboats were launched at about 1230pm to a report of two yachts colliding followed by being tasked to a capsized "Merlin Rocket dinghy" which had one person onboard who had got into difficulty near the fuel barge.
Whilst on route they came across another capsized laser dinghy near to Salterns Marina. His sail had got caught on an obstruction under the water.

Meanwhile the Lifeboat were tasked by Portland Coastguard to take a tow of Swanage lifeboat who had a yacht that had got into trouble off Old Harry. The yacht had been hard aground in the falling tide but was not showing any signs of damage.They took her under tow and handed the yacht over to the Poole Lifeboat.

11 June

1411 ILB launched to a 25ft fishing boat "Fast Fisher II" taking on water in Shell Bay,
At the same time the ALB was launched to a yacht which had lost its power after suffering an engine fire.
Whilst on route to the yacht "Skala" the ALB was diverted to help the ILB with the fishing boat taking on water, they passed their powerful salvage pump across to the vessel as the ingress of water was quite fierce.

The ALB then carried on to help the yacht with a loss of power. When they arrived alongside the yacht they decided to attach a tow and bring it back into Poole, but whilst the Lifeboat was coming up the harbour the Lifeboat was flagged down by a yacht aground by " Aunt Betty " buoy...
The Lifeboat put the vessel "Skala" whom they had under tow on a mooring then helped the 10 metre yacht "Inspiration". Another tow was connected and the Yacht was freed and towed into deeper water. The Lifeboat then took "Skala" back to the safety of Poole Quay.
Meanwhile the ILB kept the fishing boat "Fly Fish II" afloat and took it back to Cobbs Quay...

10 June

1300 The ILB launched to look for a missing windsurfer near to Hook sands , when they arrived on scene they took one windsurfer back to the beach.

1745 ILB launched to a report of Red Flares sighted west of Brownsea Island, it was found that it was kids at Rockley park, so the ILB returned to station.

9 June

16.55 the Inshore Lifeboat launched to assist an exhausted windsurfer off Ham Park, whom they returned to shore.

20.23 The All weather Lifeboat launched to a report of a vessel drifting in Poole Bay with a rope around its propeller,the lifeboat took the boat under tow and back to the safety of Mitchells boatyard.

02.34am early hours of Saturday morning, both lifeboats launched to a vessel aground on the Hook sands with 6 persons on board. When the lifeboats arrived on scene they found the vessel fast on the notorious "Hook sands" in a wind over tide situation. They put a lifeboat crewman aboard to assist with the stowage of sails in preparation for a tow, the vessel was listing quite badly at about 30 degrees and it was pounding on the bottom in the swells of the rough sea.
The vessel was directed to the quickest way off "Hook sands" and whilst lines were being passed the vessel bounced into deeper water and was off. The ILB escorted the yacht to a berth on Poole Quay and checked that there were no signs on ingress of water. When the crew were happy that all was safe they returned to their beds at about 4.30am...

5 June 1600 ILB launched to a report of man in the water in difficulty off Moriconium Quay.
The 50 yr old man had set sail in his sailing dinghy when the wind freshened and he capsized.
When the ILB arrived on scene they found the man had been taken out of the water and was onboard the harbour patrol boat "Vigilance".
The crew were concerned for the man as he was exhausted and extremely cold, he looked unwell and they felt he had delayed shock. One of the Poole crew is a paramedic, was called on scene to check the chap out, and an ambulance was called. The crew sorted his dinghy out and took it back to its trailer, then returned to station.
13 May 1804 ILB launched to a overheated vessel at Rockley sands with 4 people on board.
8 May 1618 ILB launched to search for a suspected suicidal man at entrance of the harbour.Nothing untoward was found.
1 May 13.30 Both boats launched to a 20ft Bayliner off Pottery Pier which had a mechanical problem and was taken on water very fast. when the ILB arrived on scene the problem was rectified and the stricken vessel was taken back to Mitchell's boat yard.
28 April 2137 ILB launched to 11mt Yacht that had got entangled with its own Mooring in the Holes Bay.
22 April 1932 ILB launched to a Jet Ski stranded in "Maryland" due to a mechanical failure .Towed casualty back to baiter Slip.
13 April 2102 ILB launched to a report of flashing lights and shouting between Rockley Point and Arne. When the ILB arrived on scene and did a quick search it was apparent that the "flashing lights" were coming from fishermen fishing off Seagull Island. Everything was fine so the boat returned back to station.
11 April 1122 ILB launched to a report of a broken down 20ft Cabin Boat at 85 buoy in the Wareham Channel. The vessel whose engine had overheated with two people on board was taken under tow back to Rockley Park.
2 April 1345 ILB tasked to a small vessel on the rocks in Holes Bay. The ILB connected a tow and took the stricken vessel back to Davis' boatyard.
1 April

1830 ILB launched to a missing windsurfer. After a brief search the windsurfer was located almost ashore at East Dorset Lake yacht Club.

22 March 1932 The ILB was tasked to a Jet bike that had machinery failure.The man on board was medically ok so they took him and the broken down Jet Ski back to Baiter Park Slip.
12 March 0730 ILB launched to a report of someone in the water, possibly "suicidal", but we were then stood down by Portland Coastguard, the crew were happy to return to the station!
11 March 2220 Both boats launched to a report of a red flare
near to the Bar Buoy. After an extensive search along the shoreline, then a parallel search out to "Old Harry" and throughout Studland bay nothing untoward was found and both boats returned back to station.
11 March 1023 ILB launched to three teenagers in a "Shetland" boat that had engine failure. They had reported their position "off Seagull island" but the ILB found them
near Redclyff Quay. When the ILB arrived on scene they checked all the casualties to see if they were ok, then towed them back to Lytchett Bay.
25 February 1634 ILB tasked to a sinking speedboat
23 February 1815 ILB launched to a report of red flares at the back of the harbour, a thorough search was conducted but nothing untoward was found.
10 February Both boats tasked to report of a suicidal woman on Bournemouth Pier , she was eventually persuaded to come safely ashore with one of the crew on the "X Boat"
ILB launched.
7 February 22.00 Both boats were launched to a report of red flares around Hamworthy beach, after a thorough search was conducted , nothing untoward was found and both boats returned to station.
1 February ILB tasked at 1100 to a Bait digger allegedly aground at "Brands Bay

29 January 1546 ILB tasked to a Jet Ski aground on "Soldier Bank" he had been there for over an hour, two of the crew dragged the Jet ski back into the water, checked the casualty out and then escorted him back to Poole Quay.
28 January 1428 ILB launched to A kite surfer reported to be in difficulty out in Poole Bay when the ILB arrived on scene the casualty had made his way ashore to Studland Beach.

22 January 06:52 ILB launched to a vessel aground off "Rockley Point" with 2 people on board, they had been there for some time and concerns were heightened as one of the men was a diabetic and needed to eat some food.
