National leisure operator Bowlplex
Plc (www.bowlplex.co.uk) has announced that it has joined forces
with the RNLI (www.rnli.org.uk) in a quest to raise money for the
Poole based charity, which saves lives at sea.
Bowlplex at Tower Park will hold a special charity ten pin bowling
event on Tuesday 27th January in the build-up to RNLI SOS Day 2009.
SOS Day, the RNLI’s biggest annual day of fundraising, raises
vital money, which allows volunteer crew members and lifeguards
to continue rescuing an average of 21 people each day.
Bowlplex at Tower Park is donating all 24 ten pin bowling lanes
and pool tables for the whole evening with every penny raised going
directly to the RNLI campaign. Paul Duncan, general manager of Tower
Park Bowlplex explained “For just £10 per person, guests
can enjoy unlimited bowling and pool for the entire evening with
plenty of fun games and prizes! In addition to this, we’ve
also got a raffle with some great prizes, including a family bowling
pass and several bottles of Champagne! Not only will it be a fantastic
evening, but it’s also for a very worthy cause.”
Public relations manager Frances D’Ardenne said: “Bowlplex
is very much a community minded company and we actively get involved
with local groups and organisations in each Bowlplex centre area.
Supporting the RNLI is the perfect way to show our support for the
local community.”
Poole and District fundraising branch Committee Member Tim Corke
adds: “The RNLI is grateful for Bowlplex’s support of
SOS Day and for this great opportunity to raise vital funds for
the charity. I would encourage groups of 4 or more to get in touch
and to join in the fun!”
Bowlplex provides entertainment for everyone from families to corporate
groups with ten pin bowling, the late licensed Stadium Sports Bar
and Grill, Video World with the latest arcade technology and the
American Pool Pit.
