A (re) fitting end to the year !

On 31 October 2007, our B class Atlantic lifeboat, B-710 Friendly Forester II, left the station to go to the Inshore Lifeboat Centre in Cowes, Isle of Wight, for her 3-yearly refit. She has been replaced by the relief lifeboat B-769 Coventry and Warwickshire. B-769 has also been at Newbiggin and Salcombe lifeboat stations this year.

The refit will include new engines, any repairs to the sponsons (tubes), new ropework, new electrics, repainting and seat reupholstering and once completed the lifeboat should be back with us in the New Year.
