Sunday 26th November

Setting off at 10am, it's a chance for serious runners, as well as those who aren’t, to get on their trainers and run round the scenic Moors Valley route. There are both 5K and 10K races as well as a fancy dress competition.

It’s a great fun day out with the promise of a mince pie and glass of hot festive punch at the end for all competitors. It's a good way to run off the pounds before Christmas while gaining pounds for the RNLI.

Last year 780 runners took part, and raised over £15,000 to help train lifeboat crews for their Train one, save many campaign. It costs around £1,000 per year to train each crew member in their lifesaving, navigational and boat-handling skills so we are hoping for even more entries this year.

Race organiser Amy Shepherd explains: ‘In previous years this has been a really popular event, with volunteers from RNLI fundraising branches and head office helping out on the day. It's a great chance to show support for our crews.

‘Moors Valley Country Park are offering their facilities to us free of charge. We are currently looking for sponsors to help us with refreshments and some of the associated costs so that all money raised can go directly to the campaign. If any businesses are able to help, they can contact me on 01202 662260.’

If you would like to enter the run up to Christmas Please email us for more information, click on http://www.rnli.org.uk/who_we_are/events/events or call 0845 122 6999.
