Poole Pottery Donation box reveals surprise £1500!.

Poole Pottery customers have donated generously to the RNLI and have raised a total of £1441.67 - the largest charity collection achieved within Poole in more than a year. RNLI Box Secretary Jackie Maugham struggled when she went to count the money, and had to take four trips to the bank as she could not carry all the coins within the collection box!

Brian Traves, Chairman of Poole Fundraising Branch, says, "It costs over £1,000 to train a volunteer to be a Crewman, so the funds donated by Poole Pottery customers will ensure that even more volunteers can be trained at the RNLI College in Poole to save lives at sea. The RNLI motto is 'Train one Save Many’.

He continues, “We wish to express our sincere thanks to all Poole Pottery customers and staff who have given generously over the past year. RNLI donation boxes around the country provide a valuable source of income for the charity, and all funds collected are used solely on lifesaving equipment and training.”

Steven Cocker, Head of Retail at Poole Pottery, received a certificate of recognition from the RNLI on behalf of Poole Pottery customers. He says, “Congratulations and many thanks must go to all our generous customers who have dropped coins into the collection box over the last year. We are delighted that Poole Pottery customers have helped to raise such a substantial amount of money for such a worthwhile local charity.”
