We had a very distinguished guest to the station on the evening of Wednesday 20th August. The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Diane Leek came down to visit the station. The "City of Sheffield" was funded by the South Yorkshire Guilds and Sheffield's Lifeboat appeal in 1982.

She and her Consort inspected the boats and had a trip on the "City of Sheffield" to the entrance of the harbour.

We also asked her to present retired crewman Dave Saywell with his framed letter of appreciation for 13yrs service and Queen's Jubilee Medals to 11 of the crew.
