Crew: Holly Phillips
Role: ILB Helmswoman and ALB Crew Member
Joined: 1994
Facts: Naval Architect
She was the first woman at Poole lifeboat station when she joined
the crew in 1994. She is now an ILB helmsman.
A bit of a demon on her motor bike, it is recommended that you don't
get in her way when she is responding to the pager. In fact it is
probably recommended that you just don't get in her way at all!
Holly is a Naval Architect. After some years with Hamworthy Engineering,
Holly joined the RNLI's Engineering Department as a Senior Naval
Architect. Also known as ‘the blonde bint’! |

Crew: Anne Millman
Role: ALB Crew Member
Joined: 1995
Facts: Freelance copywriter, copy-editor and proofreader
Anne joined the crew in 1995.
Anne's training as a teacher comes out in her level-headed approach
to the station's problems (how boring does that sound?!).
She recently retired from the ILB - oops now you know how young
she is! There are advantages though – she can stay tucked
up in bed when the pager goes off for the ILB on a cold, dark, wet
and windy night!
Her editorial skills are well utilised by the station's Press Officer
and she is always the first to volunteer to help with the visits
to the station.
Anne did 16 shouts in 2005.

Crew: Mike Hallard
Role: ALB Crew Member and Emergency Mechanic
Joined: 1998
Facts: Fisherman, helps trial new RNLI lifeboats, lumber
jack etc, etc..
Mike joined the crew in 1998 and is an Emergency Mechanic.
There are few jobs in Poole that Mike doesn't fit into his week.
He describes himself as a fisherman, works as a barman, delivers
logs, and anything else that pays well. He also refuels the ILB's
fuel cans.
Mike's sartorial taste is different from the rest of the crew, but
he is not at all embarrassed to wear red trousers all year round.
He retreats to his barge boat which is moored on the canal at Newbury.
At least he doesn't have to worry about the tides – only where
the next pub is!
Mike is always on hand for helping with visits to the station and
can be seen going through the bridge on various RNLI boats.
Mike did 13 shouts in 2005.
